"Liberty Ministries offers a unique opportunity to live and work with men who have faced many of life's challenges and still struggle. We strive to develop a healthy, biblical community where we can challenge, teach, encourage and mentor people to a place where they develop a deeper more effective dependence on God. I truly believe we have an awesome opportunity AND obligation to serve this population of men, women and their families.”
Baron S. King joined Liberty Ministries in July of 2016 as the Director of Residential Programs at Liberty House. In 2001 Elliott retired from a career with the Pennsylvania Department of Corrections. He spent his entire career at the State Correctional Institution at Graterford, Pennsylvania's largest maximum security prison. He began as a Correctional Officer and Sergeant, and held a number of progressively responsible positions until his retirement as a Department Head for Operations.
Patty Flemming | Director of Prison and Community Re-entry Programs
Patty Fleming joined the team in 2013 as Chaplain after being transformed by Jesus Christ through the work of Liberty Ministries' staff and volunteers as an inmate at Montgomery County Correctional Facility. This experience has provided the passion to share the same hope and transformation through Jesus Christ with the incarcerated population.
As Director of Prison and Community Reentry Programs, one of her main goals is to identify and implement specific programming to address the needs behind the walls as well as in the community to provide successful reentry. To make these programs successful and to assist the reentrant, Patty recruits and trains volunteers to lead classes and/or mentor the individual. Our mission is to provide services and spread hope to the most underserved prisons in Pennsylvania and beyond.

In 2009, with the Lord’s leading, Josh moved to Pennsylvania take on the role of store manager for Impact Thrift Stores. Working for Impact presented a unique opportunity as Josh was able to blend his heart for helping others as well as utilizing his extensive retail experience. “Each and every day it is blessing to see how lives are impacted by what happens in thrift with our customers, staff and residence”. Josh looks continues to look forward to the exciting ways God is going to continue to use Liberty Ministries Thrift for His kingdom.
Steve Poloway | Chaplain
As a part of the Liberty Ministries team of dedicated workers, it has brought me tremendous joy and satisfaction in knowing that a difference is being made in the lives of the men and women we are serving. I have been involved with the Ministry since 2008 when hired as a Resident Assistant, working with the men on a daily basis and leading them in the recovery program "Celebrate Recovery".
Along with being involved at Liberty Ministries, my wife Debbie and I minister to the needs of incarcerated men and women in Montgomery County Correctional Facility and the State Correctional Institution at Graterford, Pa. This gives us great satisfaction in providing faith and hope to those struggling with life?s issues and guiding them to the hands of Jesus Christ. My current position, Prison Program Director, gives me the opportunity to work with all the volunteers that go into the prison system, providing support and resources for any of their needs. I also coordinate the application process for any potential new volunteers.
One of the best reasons for being involved with Liberty Ministries is the outpouring of commitment and care by the staff, board members, and volunteers to those whom Liberty Ministries helps, specifically the men and women in Montgomery County Correctional Facility, and the men in SCI Graterford, helping them realize that a new beginning in rebuilding their lives and their families is possible, by and through the work of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
